Day one of the Cactus Classic at Chandler-Gilbert College Thursday saw the Embry-Riddle men’s basketball team face off against Carroll College from Montana. Both teams stayed close on the scoreboard throughout the first half. But in the second half, the Fighting Saints pulled away and handed the Eagles an 84–70 loss.
Peter Dress had a double-double for Riddle with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Noah Gifft posted 11 points and six rebounds. “The Fireball” Jacey Canalin and Lex Clontz both tallied nine points. Matur Dahl recorded eight points and six rebounds, and Isaiah Wong garnered eight points.
Embry-Riddle is now 7–6 on the season. The Eagles have one more game in the Cactus Classic today, taking on Westcliff University. After that, Riddle will not play again until January 2nd, when they go to Justice University.
