The Prescott National Forest has approved funding for 11 local projects designed to improve infrastructure, enhance forest ecosystems, and boost water quality across Yavapai County.
Deputy Forest Supervisor Ashley Hom announced the funding after a review by the Yavapai Resource Advisory Committee, which evaluated 14 proposals under the Secure Rural Schools Title II program.
Projects range from trail development and invasive plant removal to roadway improvements and watershed restoration—including over $100,000 for the Wineglass Watershed Restoration.
The projects will be implemented by Forest Service staff, local partnerships, and private contractors, all aimed at strengthening community ties to public lands while supporting long-term ecological health.
