Many local college athletes had terrific fall seasons in both the classroom and their chosen sport, and that’s why they are on the KYCA All-Area Academic Team. The top GPAs for Yavapai College women’s soccer belonged to Sophia Fottrell, Poppy Anderson — who recently signed with the University of Northern Iowa — Mari Holladay, Jill Young, Sophia Herrera, Morgan McLane, Gracie Fowlkes, and Lilly Baker.
Embry-Riddle’s best performers in the classroom were Julian Albinal and Emanuele Bossi from men’s soccer, Tessa Updegraff from women’s soccer, Alice Tuci from volleyball, and Ben Kovach, Cam Shepard, Mia Kemp, and Sophia Noriega from cross country.
