Local scoreboard from yesterday, in basketball, for the boys, Chino Valley lost to Kingman Academy 56–29. Mayer succumbed to Bagdad 57–31. Girls, Chino Valley lost to Kingman Academy 48–42. Macy Stebbins posted 12 points. Mayer fell to Bagdad 35–18. Taylor McCann recorded six points.
The Bradshaw Mountain boys soccer team got topped by Coconino 3–1. Jesus Castro notched the Bears’ lone goal.
Alumni update time. Former Chino Valley cross country runner Maddie Metz had a great first race for the Wisconsin Lutheran indoor track and field team. She finished the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:43, the ninth-best time in program history.
