Earlier this month, the Yavapai College men’s basketball team came up short by two points to Eastern Arizona in Thatcher. Last night’s rematch with the Gila Monsters in Prescott, however, would not be as close. The Roughriders got in a hole in the first half and could not get out of it. The end result was an 85–55 loss to Eastern.
Prescott alum Jason Parent and Montae Walker both registered 10 points. Tim Zoonekynd put up nine points. “The Detective” Torin Bosch netted seven points. That’s the sixth loss in a row for YC, which drops their record to 9–12 on the season.
It was a really tough night for the Yavapai College women’s basketball team, as they got topped by Eastern Arizona 112–26. Kayla Bailey was the leading scorer for the Lady Riders with seven points. Bradshaw Mountain grad Kalli Smith put up six points. YC is 2–19 on the season.
Both squads are home Saturday versus Southern Nevada.
