A Prescott Valley government official has been recognized for his work. Skyler Barton, the assistant to the town manager, received the Rachel Hut Bremen Associate’s Award for Excellence in Leadership at the Arizona City/County Management Association awards banquet, which took place in Sedona this past Monday.
Since joining the town’s leadership team, Barton has led several initiatives, including Prescott Valley’s first strategic plan and a digital dashboard for public accountability. His community-focused work includes launching a youth advisory council, organizing the first scientific community survey in two decades, and developing an economic mobility plan.
He also partnered with the University of Arizona to create an employee recognition program.
