1971: The streak began. The UCLA men’s basketball team’s 74–61 win over UC Santa Barbara marked the start of the Bruins’ 88-game winning streak. That streak ended on January 19th, 1974.
1994: They became back-to-back champs. Dallas topped Buffalo 30–13 to win the Super Bowl for the second year in a row. The Cowboys’ Emmett Smith rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns.
2000: One yard away from a possible tie. Tennessee’s Kevin Dyson was stopped at the one-yard line as time expired, giving St. Louis the 23–16 win in Super Bowl XXXIV. The Rams’ Kurt Warner was the game’s MVP, throwing for 414 yards and two touchdowns.
