YCSO Conducts Numerous Rescues and Searches in the Past Week

Yavapai County Sheriff’s search and rescue teams handled a wave of emergencies last week, including missing persons, stranded hikers, and vehicle accidents.

Efforts continue near Arcosanti to locate Joshua Flaig Miller, who has been missing since early January.

Rescue teams also saved two exhausted mountain bikers near Verde Rim, and four lost hikers in Sedona during rainy weather.

A rollover crash on Bloody Basin Road left two children shaken but unhurt, thanks to a good Samaritan.

And a missing man was located by air support on Forest Road 24.

The Sheriff’s Office reminds the public to plan ahead for backcountry travel—pack extra food, water, and clothing, and make sure your phone is fully charged.
