1944: They gave a contract to a teenager. Joe Nuxhall signed with the Cincinnati Reds. At age 15, he is the youngest man to ever play Major League Baseball.

1983: The start of a horrific streak. Indiana lost to Milwaukee 121-94. That kicked off a 28-road losing streak for the Pacers.

1986: He was one of the few to do it. San Antonio’s Alvin Robertson recorded the NBA’s second ever quadruple-double. He registered 20 points, eleven rebounds, ten assists, and ten steals in a 120-114 win over Phoenix.

Birthdays in the sports world today… Former Kansas City Royals first baseman John Mayberry is 77. Ex-Edmonton Oilers goalie Andy Moog is 66. Buffalo Sabres Hall of Fame winger Alexander Molginy is 57. Former Kansas City Chiefs guard Brian Waters is 49, and ex-Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell is 34.
