Their offense was non-existent . . . until the sixth inning. Tamryn Tucker had an RBI single to pull the Yavapai College softball team within one of Central Arizona Friday. In the seventh, Dancia Kern tied it with an RBI single, and Avree Rhodes had a walk-off double to give the Lady Riders the 3–2 win.
Game two was a slugfest, with YC getting the win 18–10. Kayley Gibb drove in five runs. Georgia Wagner-Stiles had three RBIs.
Saturday’s doubleheader completely belonged to Yavapai College as they swept the Lady Vaqueros 8–0 and 10–2. YC’s pitchers allowed just three hits to Central in game one. In game two, Tucker had two doubles and two RBIs. Sofia Romero also drove in two runs.
Yavapai is now 9–10 on the season. The Lady Riders host Eastern Arizona in a pair of doubleheaders this Friday and Saturday.
