Verde Valley FD Deals with Several Brushfires

A string of small brushfires broke out along Highway 260 in Camp Verde Monday afternoon. Units from the Verde Valley Fire District responded to the scene and quickly put them out before they could spread farther.

It’s believed the fires were caused by chains dragging from a vehicle, which resulted in sparks being created. Fire officials remind everyone to make sure chains are attached securely to your vehicle and to never throw cigarettes out your car window.

The current fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is very high.
