The Embry-Riddle softball team got off to a terrific start in their series with Westcliff University. In game one Friday, the Lady Eagles ruled the contest from beginning to end and upended the Lady Warriors 8-1. “The Claire-nado” Claire Streeter was the winning pitcher with eleven strikeouts. Kealy Myhre, Annalie Castanon, and Ari Garcia each drove in two runs. Riddle also knocked off Westcliff in game two 3-1.
In Saturday’s double-header, the Lady Eagles were victorious in game one 7-2. “The Bruiser” Danica Quinn homered and drove in four runs. Streeter fanned eight in a winning effort. Riddle, however, could not get the series sweep as Westcliff got the win 3-2 in the second game of the day.
Embry-Riddle is now 22-12 on the season. Next up, the Lady Eagles are at Ottawa this Friday and Saturday.
