Yavapai Baseball Drops 2 Close Ones to Chandler-Gilbert

The Yavapai College baseball team gave up a 2-1 lead to Chandler-Gilbert in the bottom of the sixth inning but came back to tie the score in the top of the seventh. In the bottom of the frame, the Coyotes plated a run to get the 4-3 walk-off win in game one of Wednesday’s double-header. Nate Nichols went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for the Roughriders. Luke Moeller had an RBI.

Yavapai had another close battle with Chandler-Gilbert in game two, but the Roughriders came up short in that one, final score 8-6. No stats were available for that game prior to air time.

YC is now 9-31 overall on the season and 5-21 in ACCAC play. The Roughriders are on the road again Saturday when they travel to Coolidge to take on number two ranked Central Arizona. Yavapai returns home next Tuesday for a twinbill versus Scottsdale Post Grad.
