Prescott Area State Representative Quang Nguyen announced the signing of HB 2818, the “Dan Ari Act,” by the governor. This legislation, which was sponsored by Representative Nguyen, requires the governor to direct state agencies to lower their flags to half-staff in honor of servicemembers from or stationed in Arizona who have died in action.
Nguyen said,“The Dan Ari Act’s signing into law marks a solemn pledge of remembrance and honor from the people of Arizona. Lowering our flags is a gesture of deep respect and a public declaration that we will never forget the sacrifices made in our nation’s defense. This act ensures that the valor and sacrifice of our fallen heroes will always be recognized.”
Representative Nguyen named the legislation in honor of Dan Ari, an Arizona resident and U.S. Army Vietnam veteran who worked with the Veterans History Project and the Sedona Area Veterans Community Outreach.
