One person was killed in a crash involving a side-by-side vehicle, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office reports. Deputies were called out to Senator Highway in Prescott Thursday around 8 p.m. The caller explained their side-by-side vehicle left the roadway and rolled more than 100 feet down a steep cliff.
Deputies and personnel from the Groom Creek and Prescott Fire Departments found two people pinned under the vehicle. While the passenger was responsive, the driver was unconscious. Despite CPR efforts, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased has not been released. Neither person in the side-by-side vehicle was wearing seatbelts or helmets at the time of the crash.
