Pile burning has begun in the Prescott Basin. Debris piles from various thinning projects are being burned. Smoke will be visible throughout the Tri-City area, but its impact on surrounding communities should be light. Smoke could linger in drainages and valleys during overnight hours. Visitors to the forest are reminded to obey all traffic signs and to exercise caution when traveling in the vicinity of prescribed burns.
All pile burning should be completed by May 31.
