A 109-unit upscale hotel, two restaurants, more than 100 new parking spaces and more — all part of a proposed downtown project unveiled Thursday evening at an open house in the former City Hall building where the project will be built if it’s approved. According to Shane Shumway of Territory Holdings, the project is designed to fit in with the existing downtown architecture, and will feature a 109-unit hotel and a two-story parking structure with 127 parking spaces, along with two restaurants and more than 3,000 square feet of new retail space, and also more than 3,000 square feet for a conference and event center. The proposal is expected to go before the city’s Preservation Commission during their May 10th meeting as the first step toward possible approval. Shumway said they hoped to begin construction of the project in the first quarter of 2025, with 18 months expected to complete construction.
