The Embry-Riddle baseball team got off to a great start at the Cal Pac Championship Tournament. Cole Altherr hurled a gem, going eight innings while striking out ten, as the Eagles knocked off Simpson 10-2 Wednesday.

The win puts Embry-Riddle into the Cal Pac Tournament semi-finals. They will face Benedictine-Mesa today at Mesa’s Hohokam Park. The Redhawks edged out Westcliff 10-9 yesterday.

Meanwhile, in the high school ranks, the Bradshaw Mountain baseball team fell to Flagstaff 16-6 in the 4-A Conference State Tournament. That brings the Bears’ season to an end. Flag goes on to face Salpointe Catholic Saturday.
