Embry-Riddle Softball Dominates First Game of NAIA World Series

A strong start for the Embry-Riddle softball team in the NAIA World Series. In the first inning of Monday’s opening round game versus Florida National, the Lady Eagles put up six runs. Vanessa Brink silenced the bats of the Lady Conquistadors through the first four innings before giving way to Claire Streeter. She set down the opposition 1-2-3 in the fifth to secure a 10-0 mercy rule victory for Riddle.

Brink fanned eight in a winning effort. Autumn Sulusi homered and drove in three runs. Emma Almadoba had two RBIs and scored two runs. Jaden Espinoza went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Tatum Chestnut drove in two runs, and Maddie Judge, Leah Salas, and Diana Miranda Montano each scored two runs.

Embry-Riddle returns to action in the Klamath Falls Regional today when they face the host school, Oregon Tech.
