Five YC Women’s Soccer Players Commit to 4-Year Schools

Five members of the Yavapai College women’s soccer team will be in different uniforms next season. Leading the way is Julie Reyes, who signed with Texas Southern University, an NCAA Division I school in Houston. She leaves YC as the program’s all-time leading scorer with 19 goals and was selected to the 2023 All-Conference First Team.

Keeper LJ Hempel and defender Marissa Pond will continue their careers in Arizona. Hempel will play for Ottawa University, and Pond will be on the roster for Park University. Hempel made 65 saves and had a 1.85 goals-against average in 2023. Pond started in 14 games.

Camila Prieto is off to Shaw University, a Division II school in Raleigh, North Carolina. She had four goals, four assists, and a 4.0 GPA.

Finally, Annalyce Romero signed with Division III Marian University in Wisconsin. She had a goal and three assists as a freshman.
