A prescribed burn is scheduled to begin tomorrow in the Prescott National Forest. The Burro RX burn will encompass 2,500 acres of land near the communities of Cherry, Whitehorse, and Dewey, south of Highway 169. Smoke should be visible in both the Tri-City area and the Verde Valley.
The purpose of the burn is to improve the overall health of the forest and reduce the risk of a catastrophic wildfire.
