NAZ Wranglers Top Vegas in Final Seconds

For the first three quarters of Saturday’s game in Henderson, Nevada, Northern Arizona did all it could to keep pace with Vegas. In the fourth quarter, the Wranglers finally jumped ahead of the Knighthawks. But with less than a minute to go, a touchdown pass by Jorge Reyna and a deuce kick by Kevin Macias put Vegas back on top 52-50. Then, with 14 seconds left in regulation, Joshua Jones ran it in from six yards out for the touchdown. NAZ held on for the 58-52 triumph.

Jones ended the night with two touchdown passes and three touchdown runs for the Wranglers. John Maldanado had 85 receiving yards and a touchdown. RZ McCorker had 50 receiving yards and a touchdown. Axel Perez kicked two field goals.

Defensively for Northern Arizona, Malik Sonnier recorded nine tackles and Kevin Hyde had an interception.

The Wranglers are 7-3 on the season and are off this week.
