PV Animal Control Busy With Rattlesnake Removal

Thursday morning, Prescott Valley Animal Control was called to a home in the Stoneridge subdivision to remove a rattlesnake that had curled up under a backyard grill. This marks the 14th time this month that animal control officers in the town were dispatched for a rattlesnake removal call.

All residents are reminded to be alert for rattlesnakes when outside. Town officials advise keeping your grass trimmed so snakes cannot hide in it. Additionally, keep your yard free of debris piles as rattlesnakes can hide there, too. Be sure to wear shoes when you go outside, and use a rake before you begin any gardening projects to clear the area of any snakes that might be hidden.

If you do get bitten by a rattlesnake, call 911 immediately.
