A family outing in Sedona turned tragic on Friday when a woman, out hiking with her husband and young daughters, died from heat exhaustion.
Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Paul Wick says the Pennsylvania family was hiking a seven-mile trail in triple-digit heat when the 44-year-old woman collapse:
Wick says the sun can easily overwhelm hikers in Sedona, where relatively cool mornings quickly transform into dangerously hot afternoons.
