A small wildfire broke out in Paulden Monday afternoon. Units from the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority and State Department of Forestry and Fire Management responded to the scene on Runway Road. The fire was ignited by a mower, which burned two and a half acres of brush. No structures were damaged and no one was injured.
CAFMA officials urge everyone to avoid using equipment that could produce sparks on hot and windy days. You should also keep a supply of water or a shovel nearby in case a fire breaks out.
This reminder: The Tri-City area is under Stage One fire restrictions, and the fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is extreme.
