Prescott Valley animal control officers saved the life of a calf that had become separated from its herd and ran down the middle of a street.
According to town officials, earlier this week, two animal control officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Round Up Drive and Old McDonald Drive, where some citizens were caring for the calf after finding it on the street, according to town officials. The calf was barely two days old and still had the umbilical cord attached to it.
The officers took the calf to the herd about a half-mile away. Once there, the calf reunited with its mother, who immediately began nursing it.
