Another prescribed burn is planned for the Prescott National Forest. Fire crews will be working in the Chino Landscape Project through July 20th. Nearly 8,300 acres of grass and juniper will be burned in order to improve the health of the forest and reduce the risk of a catastrophic wildfire.
The areas targeted for burning include the Peavine Tank, Page Flat, and Wagon Tire. Smoke could be visible throughout the Tri-City area. Forest Service officials also warn the smoke might cause minor delays on Highway 89 north of Chino Valley.
