Fire personnel are battling the Hillside Fire near Congress. Yavapai County Emergency Management reports the wildfire is at 807 acres in size. Wind gusts of 60 miles-per-hour helped spread the fire Wednesday afternoon. Several structures are threatened by the wildfire, including a mine and a BNSF rail line.
Residents along Ghost Town Road have been notified by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office to prepare for evacuation. Additional resources are being deployed today to the Hillside Fire.
The blaze is zero-percent contained. The cause of the fire is not known.
