Even though the uptick in monsoon activity has lowered temperatures a bit in the Tri-City area, highs will still be in the 90s this week. City of Prescott officials want to remind people not to leave children unattended in your car. A child’s body temperature can rise three to five times faster than an adult’s. Even with the windows cracked, a car’s interior temperature can increase by 20 degrees in just ten minutes.
The National Safety Council reports since 1998, 44 children have died in Arizona from being left inside a hot parked vehicle.
