Firefighters are getting the Waterman Fire near Congress under control. The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management report the blaze has not grown, and remains at 3,059 acres in size. The fire is now 50 percent contained.
The Waterman Fire began last Wednesday as the result of a lightning strike. More than 140 personnel are assigned to this wildfire, though many of them will be released over the next day or so.
