The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is calling the July 26th shooting of a Peoria man a “tragic incident.” Yavapai County Sheriff’s spokesman Paul Wick says two men were shooting and hunting skunks at the UCYC Camp near Prescott. They were standing on opposite sides of a vehicle to make sure their weapons were clear. One of the men thought his gun wasn’t loaded and pointed it at his friend, then pulled the trigger.
Wick says:
Wick says 22-year-old Jack Creed died at a hospital the next day. Police later learned that Creed was going to be the shooter’s best man at his upcoming wedding.
The alleged shooter’s name has not been released as the investigation is continuing. No charges have been filed.
