Pile burning in the Prescott Basin begins Wednesday. Prescott National Forest crews will be operating in the areas of Aspen Creek, Butte Creek, and Ponderosa Park. These burns are designed to reduce hazardous fuels in the forest in order to prevent a catastrophic wildfire from breaking out.
Smoke impacts in Prescott and Chino Valley are expected to be light. The pile burns should continue through the end of the month.
