The Embry-Riddle women’s soccer team is expected to make a big splash in their new conference. The Lady Eagles came in at number two in the Great Southwest Athletic Conference pre-season poll. They garnered 41 points. In first place is Hope International, who last season reached the quarterfinals of the NAIA national tournament. The Lady Royals picked up 46 points in the poll.
Ottawa University placed third in the poll, followed by The Master’s University in fourth, Arizona Christian University in fifth, Park University in sixth, Benedictine-Mesa in seventh, and Life Pacific in eighth.
Embry-Riddle goes into its first season as a member of the GSAC with several quality returners, including Cal Pac Defensive Player of the Year Ellie Neal, Cal Pac Freshman of the Year Jamie Brandon, and All-American Rae Yoshioka. The Lady Eagles open the season next Thursday in Michigan versus Bethel University.
