The tryouts, the practice rounds, they’ve all led to this day. Today is the start of the high school golf season. The boys go first as Prescott, who finished fifth at the Division Two state tournament last season, open up on their home course of Antelope Hills. Their opponents, Lee Williams and the other local team, Bradshaw Mountain. This will be the Bears only competition this week. The Badgers, meanwhile, will head to Grand Canyon University this Friday and Saturday for the Arizona High School Fall Preview.
Tomorrow, the Prescott and Bradshaw Mountain girls golf teams begin their 2024 campaigns by also going head-to-head at Antelope Hills, with Lee Williams thrown in the mix.
As for collegiate golf, it will be a while before Embry-Riddle gets going. The men and women open their season at the Northwest Iowa National Invitational September 16th.
