The city of Prescott is hosting a series of public safety open houses during the month of September. City officials will provide information regarding how tax revenue from Proposition 478 will be spent on public safety matters should the voters approve the measure.
The first open house is September 3rd at Fire Station 71 at 333 White Spar Road from 3 to 5 p.m. Three more open houses follow; September 12th at Fire Station 72 on 6th Street from 6 to 8 p.m. September 21st at Fire Station 73 at 1900 Clubhouse Drive from 10 a.m. to noon, and September 26th at the Prescott Police Department at 222 South Marina Street from 3 to 5 p.m.
Prop 478 would increase the city sales tax by 0.95 percent to fund the construction of new fire stations and a new police evidence facility.
