The Yavapai College men’s soccer team shutout Mount San Antonio for almost the entire first half of last night’s match. But with two minutes to go before overtime, Triple-J, John Jay Joseph, put one into the net to give the Mounties the 1-0 lead. Mount San Antonio struck again early in the second half. Then with three minutes to go in regulation, Andres Pulido got the Roughriders on the board with his first goal of the season. YC, however, could not come up with the equalizer and lost 2-1.
Yavapai is now 0-2 on the young season. The Roughriders next action is September 7th when they have an alumni game at Prescott’s Ken Lindley Field at 6 p.m. Their next game that counts is September 10th. That’s Yavapai’s home opener versus Arizona Western.
