Former Prescott High School athletes were not the only ones to be inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame. Several other people were put in as members of the legacy category. That’s for men and women who made significant contributions to Prescott sports. Three of them are former football coaches. They are Lou Beneitone, Bill Gahn, and Bill White, who also served as athletic director.
Another legacy inductee is Bill Shepard, who was the longtime team doctor for the football team who, of course, Bill Shepard Field is named after.
Two more coaches inducted into the Hall of Fame are longtime baseball coach Les Fenderson and longtime cross country and track and field coach Ray Wherley.
Another inductee is cheer sponsor Birdie Ferra.
