They had a blowout win in their previous game, and it was déjà vu all over again this past Friday for the Chino Valley football team. They clobbered Bourgade Catholic 46-6. Ben Sibole had a record-setting night, breaking the Cougars’ single-game record for touchdown throws with five. At the same time, he set the team’s career record for touchdown passes with 30. Jack Gschweng and Freddy Garcia had two touchdown catches apiece. Kai Holmes recorded ten tackles, and Logan Zerger had two interceptions. Chino is 2-1 on the season.
Elsewhere on the gridiron, Bradshaw Mountain had a tough night in Tucson, losing to Canyon del Oro 38-7. Kylin Jackson had the Bears’ lone touchdown run. Bradshaw is 0-2 on the season.
Mayer got shut out by Mogollon 60-0. The Wildcats fall to 0-3 on the season.
