Prescott National Forest officials want the public to know about the importance of prescribed burns. To that end, the forest is partnering with the Highlands Center for a prescribed fire education mini-series. Four sessions will take place during October at the Highlands Center on 1375 South Walker Road.
Each session will cover a different topic: smoke on October 3, heritage and wildlife on October 10, fire ecology on October 17, and a prescribed fire burn demonstration on October 24. All sessions begin at 9 a.m. and are free to the public.
