A juvenile was arrested after Prescott Valley Police received information about a potential threat involving Liberty Traditional School Friday morning.
After a thorough investigation, police identified and arrested the juvenile responsible for making threats. The investigation confirmed there was no actual danger to the students or the school.
The potential threat prompted the administration of the Humboldt Unified School District to send a letter to families and the community Friday afternoon.
The letter reads, in part, “We wanted to inform you about a situation that took place earlier today. A potential school threat was reported to us, and we immediately worked in close collaboration with local law enforcement to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Thanks to the swift actions of the Prescott Valley Police Department, the situation was promptly investigated and resolved.
“We are grateful for the diligence of our community members who brought this to our attention.”
To reassure the community, an additional officer was stationed at Liberty Traditional School for the rest of the school day to ensure the safety and security of students and staff.
