CVHS Girls Soccer, PHS Girls Golf Begin Week With Wins

Long trips seem to be working in favor of the Chino Valley girls soccer team. This past Saturday, the Lady Cougars traveled to Eager and shut out Round Valley 3-0. Then on Monday, Chino boarded the bus again and headed to Holbrook, taking complete ownership of their pitch. The Lady Cougars decimated the Lady Roadrunners by the score of 8-0.

Sage Rhys-Evans and Livia McMains both had hat tricks. For McMains, it was her second straight three-goal game. Lexi Polacek also scored for Chino Valley, and Holbrook had an own goal.

The Lady Cougars are now 3-3 on the season. They do not play again during the month of September. Chino’s next match is October 1 when they face Payson. Then on October 2, the Lady Cougars travel to St. John’s. After that, it’s the Chino Cup Tournament on October 4 and 5.

The Prescott girls golf team won the Bradshaw Mountain multi-meet with a 195 to Coconino’s 216 and the Lady Bears’ 261. Carolynn Westerman was third with a 46, and Karlee Molster was fourth with a 47. For Bradshaw, Brooke Teasley finished ninth with a 58, and Caylee Hyde was eleventh with a 61.
