Huge 2024 Induction Class for Yavapai College Hall of Fame

The Yavapai College Hall of Fame grew by leaps and bounds over the weekend when the school added eleven new members. One of the inductees was the 2011 softball team, which went 67-4 and won its second junior college national championship.

Six ex-Roughriders who played Major League Baseball were also added to the hall. They are Tom Tellman, John Fulgham, John Butcher, Rick Kranitz, Danny Townsend, and Greg Pastors. Butcher, Kranitz, Townsend, and Pastors all played for Yavapai’s 1977 national championship team.

Hugh Bell, the long-time assistant coach for the men’s soccer team, got a place in the Hall of Fame. He was on six national championship teams.

Another inductee is Kisha Spellman-White, who was a standout player for the women’s basketball team. The final inductees are Ernie and Janet Jones of the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe for their support of Yavapai College athletics.
