After spending most of September on the road, the Embry-Riddle soccer teams finally got to play on their home turf Wednesday in a great Southwest Athletic Conference clash against Ottawa University. The women got the ball rolling in dominating fashion as they upended the Lady Spirit 6-0. Jamie Brandon scored twice for the Lady Eagles. Rae Yoshioka had a goal and two assists, and Jamie Black registered two assists.
The men’s game, however, was a defensive struggle. Neither side managed to put the ball in the back of the net, resulting in a 0-0 draw between Embry-Riddle and Ottawa. Keeper Elias Ammon made two saves for the Eagles.
The Embry-Riddle women are now 3-2-2 on the season, while the men are 1-3-3. Both squads play again Saturday when they host Arizona Christian University. The women kick off at 5 p.m., followed by the men at 7:30 p.m.
