Flagstaff police arrested a man they say struck and killed a motorcyclist from Prescott. Police officials say the accident occurred Sunday around 1 p.m. in the 4200 block of South Lake Mary Road. A truck hit a motorcycle operated by 66-year-old Prescott resident Richard Alan Swendsen, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck, 65-year-old Christopher John Hands of Phoenix, reportedly showed signs of impairment and was arrested. He was booked into the Coconino County Jail on charges of second-degree murder, failure to stop for a vehicular accident involving death, and driving under the influence.
The Flagstaff police are continuing to investigate this incident.
