Prescott is one of the best places to celebrate Christmas, according to Newsweek. The news magazine listed Prescott as one of the top ten Christmas cities in the country. Designated “Arizona’s Christmas City” by Governor Rose Mofford in 1989, Prescott is home to the Holiday Light Parade, the Christmas Parade, the Courthouse Lighting, Acker Night, and the New Year’s Eve Boot Drop on Whiskey Row.
Prescott Chamber of Commerce CEO Sheri Heiney said, “We are honored to be included on this impressive list of other communities around the nation that know how to celebrate the spirit of Christmas. We’re proud of all the free activities we have around our community that families can enjoy every season.”
Prescott came in at number ten on the list. Other cities include Aspen, Colorado at number seven, Santa Fe, New Mexico at number six, Santa Claus, Indiana at number five, and Grapevine, Texas at number one.
