The Chino Valley volleyball team looked to begin the week by extending its winning streak, which stood at three matches in a row. Odyssey Institute, however, had other plans. The Lady Minotaurs took the first set of Monday’s match 25-15, then dominated the remaining sets 25-9 and 25-10 to get the 3-0 win. No stats were available for Chino Valley prior to air time. The Lady Cougars are back in action tomorrow when they travel to Tonopah Valley. Then on Friday, Chino takes the court at Heritage Middle School for a match against Apache Junction.
The Mayer volleyball team was also in action Monday night. After dropping their first set to Desert Heights Prep 25-12, the Lady Cats gave the Lady Coyotes everything they had the rest of the way. However, Mayer lost the next two sets 25-18 and 26-24, dropping the match 3-0. No stats were available for the Lady Cats prior to air time. Mayer plays again Thursday when they travel to Antelope Union.
