Local scoreboard from yesterday, in soccer, for the ladies, Yavapai College tied Southern Nevada 1-1. Sophia Herrera scored for the Lady Riders. Chino Valley shut out Camp Verde 4-0. Livia McMains had a hat trick.
In volleyball, Embry-Riddle got swept by The Master’s 3-0. Katie Rolle garnered 22 assists and 11 kills.
In flag football, Mayer lost to Mingus 34-7. Taylor McCann had the Lady Cats’ lone touchdown.
The Prescott boys’ golf team bested Sandra Day O’Connor 145-153. Jonathan Tso was the medalist with a 33, and Zane Gaul shot a 35.
National recognition for an Embry-Riddle runner: Demetris Love, a junior, was named the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Athlete of the Week. He placed first at the Mustang Invitational.
The Prescott badminton team recently gave back to the community. They decorated 200 cupcakes and served dinner to 85 people at the Solid Rock Soup Kitchen. That took place on Monday.
