Units from the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority responded to several fires over the past week. CAFMA officials say the week started out by providing mutual aid to the Mayer Fire District for a house fire in Poland Junction. Then, CAFMA crews were called to the Family Church in Chino Valley, where they contained a small fire. On Thursday, firefighters responded to a house fire on Freeman Drive in Prescott Valley, quickly extinguishing the flames before they could cause further damage.
CAFMA officials say all those fires are a good reminder for folks to check their smoke alarms to make sure they are working properly.
