Friday Football Recap; BMHS Wins, CVHS Cancels Game

There did not seem to be much rust on the Bradshaw Mountain football team coming out of their bye week. Friday night, the Bears were in Cottonwood to battle intra-county rival Mingus. Bradshaw came out of the first quarter holding a 19-7 lead over the Marauders. At halftime, the Bears held a 25-14 advantage over Mingus. The Bears continued racking up points and ultimately won the game 39-22.

Kylin Jackson and Kaleb Dekens both had two rushing touchdowns for Bradshaw Mountain. Brayden Munday registered a rushing touchdown and an interception. Sean Hughes returned an interception 30 yards for a score. The Bears are now 5-2 on the season.

The Chino Valley football team was to have played at Window Rock Friday night, but the Cougars’ bus got caught in a four-hour traffic jam on I-40 due to an accident, forcing them to cancel the game. It has been rescheduled for November 7.
