PHS Swim Sets Records at Forktober Fest

More record-setting performances for one Prescott swimmer over the weekend.

At the Forktober Fest at ASU on Saturday, Anwen Smith broke the girls’ 50 free record set last year by Kylie Marlatt. On top of that, she broke her own school record in the 100 freestyle. Smith capped off her performance at ASU by breaking the school record in the 100 back, set 17 years ago by Megan Rickelman.

Also for the Prescott girls swim team, Nora Gunderson achieved a state qualifying time in the 100 free. On the boys’ side, the squad set 14 personal records, with Eli Buettner lowering his state qualifying times in both the 200 free and 100 back. Lucas Hall lowered his state qualifying time in the 100 free, and Evan Marlatt lowered his state qualifying times in both the 200 individual medley and the 100 free.

Prescott concludes the regular season Thursday at home versus Flagstaff.
